Coffee with Mom

For all of the friends and students whom I’ve sat across from, for all of the meetings held over cups of coffee, for all of the Saturday morning coffee shop dates Eric and I have been on, it struck me that I never had that time with Mom. And it made me sad. On that crisp Fall day, I decided it was time to have my first coffee date with Mom.
